Drivers Lucky to Be Alive After Truck and Train Collide

The drivers of both vehicles are lucky to be alive after the prime mover and train collided just after 2pm on Monday February 5th.

Neither of the drivers were injured however emergency services were on the scene due to reports of leaking fuel.

This was not the only truck and train collision recently. Two people were injured in a serious crash in Kurri Kurri after the truck driver apparently misjudged the distance between his truck and the train, crossing the tracks causing the train to clip his vehicle.

In light of a number of truck and train collisions Pacific National has urged drivers to be cautious at rail crossings and to keep in mind that it takes a 1.5 kilometre long freight train traveling at 100km/hour at least 2km stop completely.
