The increase in fatal crashes in NSW has been well documented but we haven’t heard much about what’s happening in other states.
According to The Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics’ (BITRE) latest data, fatal heavy vehicle crashes overall in Australia rose 2.4 per cent in 2017 from 164 crashes to 168. It fell by an average of 1.9 per cent a year for the previous 3 years.
