Fatal Truck Crashes in Victoria and WA decline as NSW crashes increase

The increase in fatal crashes in NSW has been well documented but we haven’t heard much about what’s happening in other states.

According to The Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics’ (BITRE) latest data, fatal heavy vehicle crashes overall in Australia rose 2.4 per cent in 2017 from 164 crashes to 168. It fell by an average of 1.9 per cent a year for the previous 3 years.

Fatal crashes involving heavy vehicles in Queensland and South Australia are down 26 per cent and 30 per cent respectively. Read more at https://www.fullyloaded.com.au/industry-news/1802/nsw-cancels-out-fatal-truck-crash-falls-in-other-states
