A recent crash on the Monash Freeway caused major chaos and traffic disruptions after catching alight.

A truck and trailer caught on fire resulting in the closure of the inbound lanes at Springvale Road for over an  hour.

Even when the road had been reopened, traffic was backed up and understandably heavily congested.

Fire crews  were on the scene attending the bread truck which had caught on fire. The driver was lucky enough to escape the blaze but traffic disruptions were significant.
