Man Pinned Under Own Truck

The risks associated with loading and unloading of vehicles has once again been highlighted by an incident which took place recently. A truck driver in Tasmania has been airlifted to hospital after an accident which left him pinned under his truck.

The heavy vehicle rolled over on a private property at Buckland, trapping the 66 year old driver underneath.

The truck was found by police on its roof, having sustained significant damage including damage to the fuel tanks. Police said diesel was flowing into the cabin.

Emergency crews took 2 hours to cut through the truck in order to free the driver who remained conscious throughout the ordeal.He was fortunate to not sustain any serious injuries.
