Given the current population trends, Roads Australia (RA) is calling for urgency when it comes to urban infrastructure planning and delivery.
While referencing Infrastructure Australia’s Planning Liveable Cities report, the RA believes infrastructure delivery is failing to keep up with population growth and change.
The report highlighted certain issues relating to road infrastructure such as the lengthy process of infrastructure construction from planning to delivery, the aging of existing infrastructure requiring upgrading and ongoing operational and maintenance costs of infrastructure that should be taken into consideration when planning.
