Truck and Train Collision Prompts Warning

The video released by rail freight operator Pacific National and NSW Police is a harsh reminder of the consequences of failing to stop at level crossings.
People are being urged to slow down and check for approaching trains before crossing train intersections, especially in the countryside where active warning systems are lacking.
Over the past 6 months, Pacific National says it has seen an increase in dangerous driving around level crossings.
Truck and car drivers were reminded by Pacific National CEO Dean Valle that the length of a train and the speed at which it travels makes it more difficult for a train driver to stop for an approaching vehicle that it is for a car or truck.

Two videos were released where vehicles failed to stop or slow down at a level crossing, resulting in an inevitable crash. Here’s one of the videos,
