Metropolitan Melbourne and other parts of the state were issued severe weather warnings for heavy wind gusts in excess of 100km/h.

Mount William experienced the strongest gust of wind at 117km/h, with Melbourne’s Airport experiencing winds of up to 95km/h.

A truck was also blown over on the Hume Freeway, with one driver witnessing the incident.

The motorist was behind the truck when she noticed it swaying in the wind. Luckily she backed off and a couple of seconds later, it flipped onto its side. Thankfully no other vehicles were affected but the road had to be closed to traffic.

Other areas affected by the heavy winds include The Central, South West and parts of East Gippsland, North Central, North East and West and South Gippsland districts. Source: http://www.3aw.com.au/our-warm-and-windy-city/.
