Truck in Flames on Lindesay Highway

According to reports, we have experienced a surge in crashes involving heavy vehicles on our roads.

Recently a man was killed in a crash on Bruce Highway north of Bowen when the truck he was driving rolled.

The 47 year old driver was near Big Jack Creek when the crash occurred. He died on the scene.

The incident is under investigation by the Forensic Crash Unit.

In a separate crash, south of Brisbane a driver lost control of the semi-trailer he was driving before it burst into flames on Mt. Lindesay Highway.

The highway was closed in both directions causing major traffic delays. One person was injured and taken to hospital.

The heavy vehicle was completely engulfed by the flames which took several hours for firefighters to extinguish.
