Trucks to Benefit from Bruce Highway Work

Queensland transport minister Mark Bailey recently said the $16.5  million upgrade of a 6km section of the Bruce Highway north of Tiaro will improve road safety for the road freight industry.

The upgrade which opened recently involved the construction of dedicated turning lanes and a new northbound overtaking lane. Wide centre lines were also introduced and a southbound overtaking lane on the road was extended.

Local residents as well as visitors in the region will benefit from the upgrades located at a busy corridor north of Brisbane, south of Maryborough.

Motorists will now have a safer opportunity to pass slow moving vehicles and the introduction of a 1metre gap between opposing oncoming lanes will further reduce the risk of serious crashes.  Read the full story at https://www.fullyloaded.com.au/logistics-news/1803/bruce-highway-work-clears-way-for-trucks
