Western Victorian Roads Criticised for Not Being Truck Friendly

The Victorian Farmers Federation grains president Ross Johns raises an interesting point about the truck-worthiness of Western Victorian roads.

Ross Johns, a Warracknabeal farmer says road conditions through western Victorian are “dreadful”, with large drop offs on the side of the roads and pot holes.

He also pointed out several poorly maintained council and VicRoads managed roads that he described as “accidents waiting to happen”.

The Wimmera Highway is also a concern, with horrible bumps.

Mr Johns highlighted that while these roads are so important to the state’s economy, they were not being properly maintained. He said that farmers need the roads to be truck worthy as much as trucks need to be roadworthy.  Source: https://www.weeklytimesnow.com.au/news/national/western-victorian-roads-are-not-truck-worthy/news-story/2a5d64d7e6c53391e7d44ee07917f6e7
