Court Decision Brings New Rules into Play

The Federal Court in Brisbane has lifted the stay on the Contractor Driver Minimum Payments Road Safety Remuneration Order 2016 (RSRO), that resulted in the implementation of the new rules published on December 18 last year.

Applications to extend the stay on the Order on the ground were rejected, however the Federal Court has scheduled further consideration hearings on 9-10 May.

Senator Glenn Lazarus is among those who have vowed to continue fighting the order.

Senator Lazarus is drafting legislation to abolish the RSRT.
