The Australian government has announced plans to provide $72.5 million in funding towards the upgrade of Midland Highway in Tasmania’s north between Symmons Plains and Launceston.
All road users will benefit from the improved safety and faster travel times in the region once the project is completed.
The road which will be delivered 2 years ahead of schedule, will significantly improve travel time and connectivity between the south and north of Tasmania.
The project will also improve safety by removing heavy vehicles from Perth’s city centre as they travel to and from the northern and north-western ports.
